Doug earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2004 and then a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance also from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2012.
As a non-traditional student, Doug worked full-time throughout his college career in both the landscape service industry and in wholesale. His experience gained at that time included sales and marketing strategies, managing projects, supply chain management, inventory control, setting pricing models, customer service, budgeting, and operations management.
Since 2013, Doug's career has focused more on his finance and accounting background. He currently serves as Treasury Analyst for a large municipal employer after having worked for many years as a Treasury and Accounting Manager for a large nonprofit Christian ministry in Colorado Springs. The experience he has gained during this time has included managing general ledgers, financial reporting and analysis, trust management, compliance management, income processing, tax preparation, and investment portfolio management. In 2016 he earned a certificate as a Certified Fund Specialist from the Institute of Business & Finance.
Doug lives in Colorado Springs with his wife of 25 years, and enjoys gardening, playing golf, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
